CELEBRATING PAMELA SEGGER, EXECUTIVE & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

Pamela was a founder of the festival and the driving force for our first 10 years. She brought the world to Lunenburg and put the Lunenburg Doc Fest on the global film stage. She encouraged and facilitated many Atlantic Canadian filmmakers and the festival continues to feature them. She played an important role in establishing the “Breakthrough Program” under the Documentary Organization of Canada providing a launch pad for underrepresented filmmakers to “kickstart” their careers.

While battling a devastating illness, she remained optimistic, focused and in control. She was a model of grace and dignity in the face of adversity.

Our team has been diminished but remains resolved to continue to build on the strong foundations Pamela established. The festival is one of her legacies, and we will continue to be inspired by her memory.

To recognize Pamela, we have named an award, called the Pamela Segger Award for Best Canadian Feature Documentary. Let’s remember and celebrate Pamela.

This is your opportunity to immerse yourself in traditional East Coast culture, see incredible fact-based films from around the world and support a local charitable organization.

Lunenburg Doc Fest is a registered not-for-profit organization. We amplify original voices, inspires fresh ideas and builds our community – in Canada and around the world – in support of fine documentary filmmaking.
