'DOCS ON MUSIC' FILM SERIES
Tune into spring with Lunenburg Doc Fest and 'Docs on Music' — a lineup of films that are sure to get your feet tapping and put a song in your heart. Sing alongs are encouraged!
Beginning March 18, one film will launch at 7pm each Thursday and be viewable across Canada through Saturday. The Thursday screenings will be accompanied by a livestream Q&A with filmmakers and/or special guests whenever possible.
A limited number of individual tickets are available for each film at a suggested price of $5.

Ella Fitzgerald: Just One of Those Things explores how Ella's music became a soundtrack for a tumultuous century. From a 1934 talent contest at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, the film follows Ella’s extraordinary journey across five decades as she reflects the passions and troubles of the times in her music and life. Moving beyond conventional biopic, the film uses images and music to evoke the feel of those times bringing to life the history of Ella’s unique career. Gordon Lightfoot: If You Could Read My Mind is an exploration of the career, music, and influence of legendary Canadian musical icon Gordon Lightfoot. With unprecedented access to the artist, the documentary follows Lightfoot’s evolution from Christian choirboy to troubled troubadour to international star and beloved Canadian icon, taking audiences from high school auditoriums in straight-laced, small town Ontario in the 50s to the coffee houses of Yorkville and Greenwich Village in the 60s, through Lightfoot’s turbulent, substance-fueled arena shows of the 70s, and finally to the artist in present day.Join a livestream Q&A with director-producer-writers Martha Kehoe and Joan Tosoni after the screening.MARCH 25 • 7pm Atlantic Viewing Region: Canada
