LDF Announces Four Films that Promise to Add New Perspectives to Local Conversations

Nova Scotia has four good reasons to be excited for the 13th edition of the Lunenburg Doc Fest, September 23-27, 2026. On Monday, August 10, the festival team announced four documentaries, giving audiences a peak into what to expect at this year's festival.
“We want NS audiences to get excited about what’s been chosen for them,” says Walter Forsyth, local filmmaker and Executive Director of Lunenburg Doc Fest. “The four films are new perspectives from real people and real events that reflect the conversations we’re having today about life, art, and society”
As Atlantic Canada’s leading documentary film festival and industry conference, Lunenburg Doc Fest is known for its carefully curated program that is both educational and entertaining. Today’s announced films further add to this reputation and remind us of the saying that real life is often stranger than fiction.

“We’ve looked at over 900 films to select the very best the past year has to offer,” says Forsyth. “For five days, we’ll present 65 documentaries everyone should see - and we’ve made it really affordable to do so.”
Passes to the Lunenburg Doc Fest are on sale now. Early bird rates for the Film Pass ($85), Industry Pass ($90), and Gala and Film Pass Bundle ($150) will last until September 11.
