Filmmaking Program

Would you love to see your garden on the big screen? Now’s your chance!
Lunenburg Doc Fest is looking for people 65+ or folks that identify as a senior to participate in a new filmmaking program called SAGED.
SAGED (Senior Artistic Garden Experimental Documentaries) is a free introductory
experimental documentary filmmaking program for senior garden enthusiasts, living in the
Lunenburg Area or along the South Shore.
Selected participants will receive training, resources, and one-on-one mentorship to create a
short minute 16mm film focusing on an aspect of their garden, community plot, or favourite
outdoor plant. You do not need to have a garden to apply, just a love of greenery!
The program will teach participants new skills like; how to film plants, how to use a Bolex
camera, cinematography, sound recording, sound design, and digital editing.
Completed films will be shown during the 13th Lunenburg Doc Fest (Sept 23-27).
Participants in the program will also have the opportunity to participate in a larger scale
community camera-less filmmaking Phytogram project over the summer using plants to create
images on emulsion!
Participants for SAGED must be available to attend all four workshop sessions in Lunenburg:
Session 1: Monday, May 4th, 10:00am – 12:00pm
Session 2: Monday, June 1st, 10:00am – 12:00pm
